“They’ve come after me from Day 1”: Hegseth attacks those calling for his ouster for reported second Signal chat leak.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday sent a message to people who want him to be fired over his latest “Signalgate” leak scandal: “Come after me.”

Speaking to “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, the defense secretary vowed to not back down as he is under fire for reportedly sharing plans for military strikes in Yemen in a Signal chat with his wife and brother. The Trump administration had already accidentally added The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief on a separate Signal chat in which Hegseth and other senior Trump officials discussed the attack plans.

“They’ve come after me from Day 1, just like they’ve come after President Trump,” he said. “I’ve gotten a fraction of what President Trump got in that first term. What he’s endured is superhuman.”

“If people don’t like it, they can come after me, no worries. I’m standing right here,” he added.

Hegseth denied sharing sensitive information, saying he merely spoke in the Signal chat about “informal, unclassified coordinations for media coordination and other things.” He also vowed, pending an investigation, to go after former Pentagon officials he said leaked information to the media.
