“Senator, ‘he can speak in sentences,’ is not praise”: Elizabeth Warren squirms when pressed on defending Biden fitness.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren was pressed on her previous defense of former President Joe Biden’s acuity during the 2024 presidential race on a recent episode of the “Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso” podcast.

“Do you regret saying that President Biden had a mental acuity, he had a sharpness to him? You said that up until July of last year,” Fragoso asked the Democrat in an episode that published Sunday.

“I said what I believed to be true,” the senator from Massachusetts replied.

“You think he was as sharp as you?” Fragoso pressed, to which Warren appeared to hold back a laugh.

“I said I had not seen decline,” Warren said, which prompted Fragoso to give her a disbelieving look. “And I hadn’t at that point,” Warren insisted.

“You did not see any decline from 2024 Joe Biden to 2021 Joe Biden?” the interviewer asked.

“Not when I said that. You know, the thing is — he — look, he was sharp. He was on his feet. I saw it. Live event, I had meetings with him a couple of times,” Warren said.

“Senator, ‘on his feet,’ is not praise. ‘He can speak in sentences’ is not praise,” Fragoso pushed back, which again prompted some muted laughter from the senator.

“Fair enough. Fair enough,” Warren relented. “Look, it is — the question is, what are we going to do now?”

“Okay,” Fragoso said, relinquishing the point.
